The Connecticut Science Center, located in Hartford, is a place to immerse oneself in fun, educational, and interactive experiences related to science. The hands on, minds-on exhibits are fun for children and their parents to enjoy as a family. With five floors of endless exhibits, the Science Center creates a whole day of adventure.

Darius Wilmot, children’s counselor from Southbury said, “Everything is crazy, from the noises to the children running around with excitement. It’s an overall great atmosphere. The kids’ favorites exhibits are always the dinosaur and space floor. It’s a time for them to explore, and for me as well.”

It is impossible to see with over 150 exhibits to visit all in one day. If visitors get tired or a little restless, the center’s 3D IMAX theatre could be a good place to take a break, before venturing out again. Hungry for a meal? Check out the cafeteria to grab some grub to refuel for the next exhibit.

Most of the children that visit the Science Center say that their favorite place to visit is the Space Floor. The ceilings are filled with bright stars and planets making one feel lost amongst the universe. This is just one of the 5 themed floors featured at the Science Center.

As Spring is just around the corner, the relaxing garden rooftop will soon be open to visitors to enjoy once again. Many anticipate its reopening because of how serene it is. It is just as fun to sit in and watch a movie as well like, The Last Reef, in 3D, which visitors of all ages can certainly find enjoyable.

Parents find it nice that their children can move freely around the museum. “My kids can get to where they want to go instead of being forced to stay with a group. They can explore for themselves," said Trevon Bray, visitor of the center.

“My kids love to come from time to time to get their hands dirty,” said, Lisa Cook, a visitor of the Center.  My son Dillon is obsessed with dinosaurs, so I’m always dragged there first. Hitting the gift shop is always a must. They find the freeze dried, astronaut ice cream sandwiches -- the greatest things ever.”

The Connecticut Science Center’s running hours are from Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Children under the age of three pay no entrance fee. It is located near the Connecticut River, on 250 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT 06103.
